Every year on December 2, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Day is celebrated. Recognized as the Spirit of the Union, this date represents the day, which all the seven Emirates came under one roof. Leading the United Arab Emirates into existence was their first president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Gradually, in the month of February, 1972, Ras al Khaimah resolved to join the others and claimed becoming the seventh emirate.
